For a year and a half, the students of Dream Orchestra, especially those of the Young Leader Program, learned to recreate traditional musical stories from different parts of the world, as part of the Storytelling Project that was supported by Signatur Stiftelsen.
In these workshops, musical and narrative knowledge of typical stories from the culture of Sweden, Greenland, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and from the Balkans was deepened. This journey, where they also explored the creation of characters, the plot and their interpretation on stage, through dance or acting, comes to an end with a digital book that will be available this summer 2023.
The book, which will be available on the dreamorchestra.se website, will collect the different workshops in a narrative and interactive way: how to create a story through characters, illustration, music and theater. It will also show in audio and video the work that was done with the stories of the different visited cultures.
For this project we have the support of Betlehemskyrkan and the University of Gothenburg.
Dream Orchestra would like to thank Signatur Stiftelsen for their support in turning the orchestral rehearsals into a space where music meets theater, dance and storytelling during this past year and a half. Everyone enjoyed and learned by playing music together.
