At the “Centro Nacional de Acción Social por la Música”, our three board members will share the achievements and the methodology with which more than 352 students and their families, of whom 90 % have migrant or refugee background, have learned to play an instrument in the orchestra.
Franka Verhagen will participate, on Thursday, September 21, as a speaker in the research area. There she will present the results of the monitoring and evaluation of the learning process in DO. First observations can be found in the books “Dream Orchestra, a learning model” and “Storytelling in the orchestra” (both available now digitally on DO’s website ). She will share her experience and show the connections and differences between the learning processes at DO and those she has observed when teaching during 33 years at El Sistema Venezuela.
The Portuguese sociologist, Alix Didier Sarrouy, who will also attend the II World Congress of El Sistema, will share with teachers and directors of different international programs the results of the research he published on Dream Orchestra.
