As part of the Storytelling project that we carry out with the support of Signatur Stiftelsen, the stories and narratives of the students and teachers of Dream Orchestra have started to resonate through their music and words. Several workshops have shown them how to create a story.
With Malin Clausson, journalist and writer of several children’s books, the students explored the creation of a character and a plot. Little by little the creative process is starting to flow.
This week Linda Kruger, representative of Signatur Stiftelsen, visited DO and attended a Storytelling workshop.
The objective of this project is to motivate and involve students in the creation of narratives and a specific artistic repertoire based on traditional music from Sweden and other world cultures, and thus invite the DO students to become protagonists of the joint celebration of their traditions through music and words.
This project is supported by Betlehemskyrkan, the University of Gothenburg and guided by traditional music specialists from Sweden, Afghanistan, the Middle East, South America and Africa, storytelling specialists, cultural heritage and performance, a diverse sequence of multicultural repertoire connected with accompanying stories will be created, written, performed in multiple locations and recorded.
