Vanessa Ritchie-Suarez is a versatile trombonist and music educator based in Sweden. With experience in both orchestral performance and contemporary improvisation, she brings a dynamic approach to her teaching. She holds degrees in music performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London and the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, and has performed with ensembles such as Chromatic Brass Collective, Göteborgs Symfoniker, Göteborgsoperan, Chineke! Orchestra, and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. She recently performed with Septemberteatern in the 2025 premiere of their new musical Fru Lojal at Stora Teatern.

As an experienced low brass and piano teacher in both Kulturskolan and international school settings, she is passionate about fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. At Dream Orchestra, she helps students develop confidence, technique, and musicality in a variety of styles, drawing on her training as an orchestral trombonist and her experience as an experimental improviser.

Beyond teaching, Vanessa is exploring improvisation and electroacoustic music. She is one half of av_aton, a newly launched duo that blends the trombone with electronic soundscapes, bringing together the symphony hall and the electronic dance scene. Whether in the classroom or on stage, Vanessa is committed to using music as a tool for connection, empowerment, and artistic discovery.
