Daniel González

Trumpet

Daniel is a passionate trumpet player and teacher, born in Bogotá, Colombia.

As he recalls: “Music entered my life at the age of 12, through the trumpet, when I began at a small music school called Batuta. I spent my childhood and teenage years as part of the Soacha Symphony Orchestra, where I experienced what it was like to play in a semi-professional orchestra and where I decided to dedicate myself to music.”

At 20, Daniel moved to Venezuela, where he had his first contact with El Sistema. There, he studied at the University Institute of Musical Studies and deepened his knowledge of music and pedagogy. In Venezuela, he worked with different groups in a variety of musical styles. He lived there for 10 years and discovered what it means to learn through teaching.

Back in Colombia, he met his wife, the mother of his son Valentín, and together they moved to Sweden seven years ago. Music has never left his side, remaining his lifelong tool. Today, Daniel works with Dream Orchestra and also teaches trumpet at the Kulturskolan in Herrljunga and Vårgårda. He continues to play Latin music, now with a Swedish touch.
