This Monday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m., Dream Orchestra celebrates its sixth anniversary with a concert in which you can listen to the repertoire that everyone has worked on over the years. With free admission, students from the different DO programs will be at Betlehemskyrkan, Gothenburg, waiting to celebrate with you.
More than 350 students have played music together since the Venezuelan maestro, Ron Davis Alvarez, founded Dream Orchestra in 2016. DO is an orchestra for everyone, but especially for those who need it most. It started out as a safe place for many unaccompanied young people who came to Sweden to escape armed conflict.
In Dream Orchestra, children and young people from more than 20 countries share the music stand, who have created an important musical community together with their parents, friends and relatives. Teachers, volunteers and employees comply with the “Safe in the Orchestra” Safeguard Policy, which was carried out in collaboration with Save the children.
During these 6 years, Dream Orchestra has received two important prizes: Ockenden International Prize (March, 2021) and Frihetstonen Prize (October, 2021).
Some of Dream Orchestra students need special support, whether it is to pay the rent, have food, pay the public transport ticket or cover any other need that allows them to have a safer life. You can help them by becoming a monthly donor. You can donate through Bankgiro: 700-0219 (SEB) or Swish: 123348 28 25.
Dream Orchestra students are waiting for you this Monday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m., in Betlehemskyrkan, Gothenburg. Vasagatan 26-30.
