Dream Orchestra is one of the music projects that has received continued support from Signatur – “Insamlingsstiftelse för musikfrämjande”. After the completion of the “Storytelling in Dream Orchestra” in 2023, a new project has been granted to develop Dream Orchestra’s Learning Center.
Starting from March 2024, this project supports the ongoing activities of Dream Orchestra with intensive weekly musical practice, concerts and community activities, and seeks to develop the multifaceted teacher’s profile, to efficiently meet the needs of a growing number of a culturally diverse group of students. Our doors are open all year and the number of participants increases every week.
Under the guidance of Ron Davis Alvarez and Franka Verhagen and with the support of specialists, Dream Orchestra’s teachers are taking part in workshops and training in connection with Dream Orchestra’s Learning Model.” They will be empowered by receiving the necessary tools to lead a sectional or tutti in a holistic way, achieving meaningful musical results and helping the students to develop their socioemotional skills by establishing the appropriate communication with groups of children and young people, of different ages.
To achieve this multifaceted profile, the Learning Centre invites DO teachers to cultivate and exchange important personal, musical, pedagogical, didactical and management skills. This experience will be presented in a publication at the end of the project.
