Maestro Ron Davis Álvarez, Artistic Director of Dream Orchestra and an international reference in inclusive music education, will be one of the featured speakers at the Promise of Music – The First World Congress on the Social Impact of Music, taking place October 6–10, 2025.
With more than 800 delegates, 30+ sessions, 5 film screenings, and 10+ concerts, the forum will bring together leading figures: Jamie Bernstein on the legacy of Leonard Bernstein; Dr. Ahmad Sarmast (Music in Exile); Tod Machover (MIT) (Music and AI); Dr. Gabor Maté (trauma, childhood, and healing); Prof. Joshua Cohen (Glenn Gould and the Goldberg Variations); as well as sessions on new advances in applied music neuroscience and advocacy in music education with Annie Kidder and Roberta Guaspari.
Dream Orchestra (DO) will be presented by Ron as a pedagogical and social model with more than 450 active students—many from migrant and refugee backgrounds—where orchestral practice is built upon open access without auditions, socio-emotional support, intercultural repertoire, and clear learning goals, fostering integration, educational continuity, and youth leadership.
