In Dream Orchestra I’ve learned how to play my favorite instrument, the cello, but I have also learned how to be a responsible person, how to make plans for life. I have learned how to keep hope when there seems not to be any.
Cello, Work Group
Many of our students who arrived in Sweden as asylum seekers in 2015 both study at the gymnasium and work in afternoon and night shifts at restaurants and others. They don’t have time to come to Dream Orchestra as often as they would like to. They meet and share time together on Monday evenings which has turned out to be a good moment. As the students themselves explain: “We are a family and the orchestra is the place where we can find a positive space to get away from our daily problems and pressures with our brothers and sisters of the orchestra”.
