Nineteen of our Dream Orchestra students were selected to take part in the debut of El Sistema Sweden’s National Orchestra. The first meeting will take place in the Konserthuset in Stockholm, between October 29 and 31.
To the more than 40 children and young musicians selected throughout Sweden for this debut of El Sistema Sweden´s National Orchestra, the names of our students: (violin) Dan Cassegård, Marija Kresteska, Arman Rahimi, Sonia Brodin, Timor Sultani, Lisette Urbina, Nargees Rahimi, Larissa Yunis, and Verónica Luu; (violas) Mikael Ahmadi, Asil Salim and Joshua Zampolli; (cello) Paulina Löfgren, Salma Al Kahtib, Annica Taborga, Patrick Michensek, Tommy Kresteska and Beatriz Díaz; (clarinet) Mariam Afana, are added.
Most of our students, selected for this first meeting, have been playing their instruments for less than three years. Many of them even didn’t know the instrument they play today, when they arrived at the orchestra for the first time. That´s why this new musical achievement fills all the teachers and volunteers, who have been working with these children, with pride.
The Dream Orchestra is part of the Role Model program of El Sistema Sweden.
The debut concert, that will be conducted by our director Ron Davis Alvarez, also Artistic Director of El Sistema Sweden, will be on Thursday, October 31 at the Konserthuset Stockholm at 18:00. Entrance is free.
