A group of students from the Dream Orchestra will be part of the concert that celebrates the 20 years of the World Childhood Foundation, created by Her Majesty Queen Silvia in 1999. The event, which will be attended by the King and The Queen of Sweden will be in charge of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of maestro Gustavo Dudamel, who will share the podium with our Artistic Director Ron Davis Alvarez.
Before the gala, more than 20 of our students will offer a small concert in the lobby of Gothenburg Konserthus, directed by our clarinet teacher Frida Sweden. There we will play classical, Swedish, Venezuelan and traditional pieces of Afghanistan.
Our Artistic Director, Ron Davis Alvarez, will lead the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, students of the Vägus Götalands Undomssymfoniker and four students of the Dream Orchestra. Together they will perform the play “Polska and Finale from The Prodigal Son” (1956) by the important Swedish composer Hugo Alfvén, whose stile belongs to the late romanticism in which he combines Central European influence with Swedish folk elements.
The concert is 19:00 at Gothenburg Konserthuset. Tickets are on sale on the orchestra page https://www.gso.se.
