Dream Orchestra is for everyone and over the past 8 years, an increasing group of children, young people and adults has joined the intensive orchestra activities, several times a week, at the different venues in Gothenburg and Alingsås. Whether you are already playing an instrument or don’t have previous knowledge of music or of playing an instrument, at DO there is an orchestra waiting for you. Both talented young musicians with ambition, who want to invest more time in orchestra playing and rehearse intensively on a weekly basis, as those whose main motivation is to be part of this joyful activity, find their place in DO, not least during the weekends to develop their artistry and creativity but also socialize and make friends.

A special place in Dream Orchestra is occupied by the Afghan Traditional Music Ensemble. The first students for which DO opened its doors, those unaccompanied asylum seekers who came alone to Sweden in 2015, are now adults and come together every week to play music from their cultural heritage and keep this music alive.

With Dream Orchestra’s learning model, it is possible to design a personal learning route for every student. Depending on your age, motivation and previous knowledge you are invited to the level that adjusts best to your needs: Vivaldi group, Mozart group, Introduction to the orchestra, Junior Orchestra, Intermezzo, Pre-Young Leaders, Young Leaders.

• Vivaldi group is for small children (3-5), who like to learn to play the violin and have never played this instrument before.
• The Mozart group is for small children (6-7), who like to learn to play the violin and have never played this instrument before.
• The Introduction Orchestra invites children, young people and adults who have never played an instrument before. Here you can start with Violin, Cello, Flute, Trumpet, Trombone, Horn and Percussion.
• Junior Orchestra is for those of you who already know the basics of your instrument. You may have been participating in DO Introduction for some time and now you know how to play a scale and have basic music reading skills.
• Depending on the progress achieved in the Junior Orchestra or the technical instrument level that you bring when arriving to DO, there are two intermediate levels, Intermezzo and the Pre-young leaders, that prepare you for the Young Leaders Orchestra. In this process they learn side by side with the young leaders who on average have been attending DO for 4 to 5 years.
• In the Young Leaders orchestra you can continue growing musically. It is organized in a multilevel way.
