Dream Orchestra celebrates its 5th anniversary this Saturday, October 23, at 18:00, at the Betlehemskyrkan, Vasagatan 26-30. The event will bring together students, teachers and volunteers from Gothenburg, Lövgärdet and Alingsås. Entrance is for free.
During the concert, the Dream Orchestra and its founder, Ron Davis Alvarez, will receive the Frihetstonen Award from the Torgny Segerstedts Minne Foundation for being "a world-class youth orchestra" and teaching "hundreds of children and young people that music can be a way to make your voice heard and to find brotherhood in the world. "
The book “Dream Orchestra, a learning model”, written by Franka Verhagen and Ron Davis Alvarez, and a documentary directed by Swedish filmmaker Erik Eger, which narrates the history of the orchestra will also be presented during this event.
Founded in 2016 by maestro Ron Davis Alvarez, the orchestra has brought students, teachers and volunteers of more than 18 nationalities together through music in a safe space.
